Nimkish is a rising Indigiqueer pop artist based out of Vancouver, B.C. Her first album, Heartbreak On The Coast, was released on August 30th, 2019. The debut album charted #1 on the CiTR Discorder Charts the week of its release, and has since received national radio play on CBC Reclaimed. Nimkish writes from a personal place and of the many trials of life and heartbreak. Her raw lyricism is seamlessly intertwined with catchy pop melodies, and is backed by a smooth blend of Pop, R&B, and Electronic Music. After the humble success of Heartbreak On The Coast, Nimkish is almost ready to share new music with the world. The second album, Damage Control, is a snapshot of the young artist’s life as she moved through the uncertainty brought by the last few years. It’s an incredibly vulnerable and honest album about navigating grief, escapism, isolation, and the state of the world. Nimkish experiments with a fresh, new sound as she leaves the Heartbreak On The Coast era behind and gracefully welcomes a new one. Her long awaited second project is to be released in 2021.

Over the past 5 years NIMKISH has put the work in to develop her artistry and her career. She graduated from Langara’s Intensive Singer/Songwriter program and then after graduated from Nimbus School Of Recording & Media with various music related diplomas. She completed their Intro To The Music Industry Program, the Artist Development Program, and the Advanced Electronic Music Production program and graduated in April 2018. She has received scholarships . grants, and awards for her music. After graduating, Nimkish took part in FPCC's Indigenous Songwriting Retreat, an intensive week-long Industry retreat in Whistler, B.C. In 2020 she was chosen as 1 of 30 to attend SOCAN Foundation's Equity X Program in Toronto to receive further mentorship in electronic music production.

Nimkish has graced the stage at various festivals like The Talking Stick Festival, Indigifest, Artswells, 2 Rivers Remix, Asinabka Film Festival, Vancouver Pride Festival, Kelowna Pride Festival, and more. In September 2020, she was asked to perform for Music BC's Let's Hear It! Live Showcase at Fortune Soundclub (curated by Snotty Nose Rez Kids) where she was backed by DJ Kookum.

Her favourite part of the musical process is collaboration and lyricism. She loves to collaborate with different songwriters, producers, and creators.  She is influenced heavily by big voices such as Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, and Frank Ocean. However, some of her lyrical inspirations are Mac Miller, Kehlani, and Amy Winehouse. Nimkish pulls inspiration from whatever makes her feel something at the time and continues to push her boundaries when it comes to her lyrical content.
